MODELING

I love to model, I think that it's a great way to empower yourself, and gain confidence. One of the most prevalent issue throughout many cultures is the subject of self-image. I wrestled through my younger years with a poor self esteem and confidence, as I had fairly serious acne, and I struggled with bulimia as early as my freshman year in high school. I never would have thought I'd be 'attractive enough' for the camera.

One of my friends who was taking a photography class had asked me to be a subject of his. I tentatively agreed. After the first shoot, I had a wonderful feeling of invigoration. This made me think. We have such an immense pressure in our culture to be the prettiest, skinniest, or most athletic, and magazines depict girls that are at least 10 pounds underweight as our role models for appearances. I want to show that there is more to beauty than being skinniest or most attractive or have the time in the morning to plop on five layers of makeup.Being able to accept your flaws is a wonderful thing, because everyone is human. Not everyone will like you, or think you're the prettiest, but as long as you have confidence in yourself, you will be beautiful. Beauty is in the confidence you exude from within.
